Abstract

Existing studies indicate that Hmong college students face numerous academic, cultural, and financial challenges in higher education. Additionally, some studies have also identified factors contributing to the success of Hmong college students. The purpose of this review of the literature on the Hmong college student experience was conducted to identify college environmental factors that contributed to their academic success in higher education. Given the increasing college enrollment trends but low educational attainment rates, it is imperative to examine environmental factors on college campuses that impact the success of Hmong college students.
