Session Type: Structured Poster Session
Educators/researchers from the USA, the Netherlands, South Africa and Taiwan—all participants in the 2012 AERA pre-session, Cultivating Action Research, and in the 2013 and 2014 Structured Poster Sessions, come together again to present their current inquiries. This session begins with an introduction in which we assert our claim that incorporating action research and collaborative group work in professional education can reduce the theory–practice divide. The session then transforms into 12 (6x2) parallel poster presentations designed so that participants can describe their study, see one another’s, and discuss the implications of their work. The session culminates in a conversation between presenters and audience, moderated by a discussant, regarding dissemination and the use of action research as a medium for professional learning.
