Session Type: Symposium
Colleges and universities have long recognized the importance of exposing students to diverse ways of thinking and understanding. Recently, both in the United States and abroad, attention has focused on the ways to expand traditional study abroad programs to more students, to infusing international topics and research into the curriculum, and to creating international partnerships. Yet, efforts of internationalization remain uneven. Students do not integrate experiences abroad to their college programs, faculty have little institutional support for international work, and institutions, while espousing a desire to internationalize, in practice do not link efforts to strategic goals. This session addresses internationalization efforts from the vantage point of stakeholders, leaders, and policy makers.
