Session Type: Symposium
The objectives of this session are to share, explore and discuss ways in which change, transitions and transformations shape the professional knowledge, identities and practices of teacher educators over time, while providing insight into processes of professional becoming and its impact on pedagogy. Teacher educators from five countries will contribute short narratives on how they ‘became’ teacher educators in relation to personal/ professional transitions. The symposium offers discussion opportunities, informed by varying contexts and experience, about university-based teacher educators and the role of higher education and research in reshaping understanding and practice, at this time of significant international debate and change in teacher education.
