Session Type: Roundtable Session
In this symposium, four panelists from the areas of English Education, Teacher Education, and High School Ethnic Studies will present their findings on humanizing pedagogies. Drawing from their experiences as educational researchers, high school teachers, teacher education faculty and community organizers, their presentations will raise fundamental questions about humanizing praxis as a model for teaching, teacher development, and critical literacy. This session will culminate in a dialogue, mediated by a well-known scholar on the significance of humanizing pedagogy with Students and Teachers of Color.
