Session Type: Symposium
The role of education in divided societies has been debated for many years and is reflected in different organizational arrangements as opposed to the recognition and promotion of diversity and cooperation within society.
This session looks at contested spaces in education as lived out in 3 international contexts: Northern Ireland, Israel, and Los Angeles, California. The session will explore the challenges and opportunities within each location as well as similarities and differences across geographical areas. By means of a comparative approach the session aims to promote and improve the relations between and across disadvantaged interface areas/ contested space across the globe.
