Higher education admissions systems often undergo reviews that are intended to improve their psychometric properties and to respond to expectations in the education sector with regard to reforms, policies, and innovations. Recently, testing programs have been charged with demonstrating their efficacy in new ways. The symposium brings together participants from five countries (Chile, Israel, Sweden, U.S., and Turkey) to present a wide array of changes that have been introduced in their admissions tests. The symposium addresses a variety of topics ranging from planned modifications to national college entrance exams – enhancing topic coverage, public perception of fairness of tests, and psychometric properties of the tests – to the consequences of the changes on equity and fairness of admission test scores.
