"Like They're the Only Ones": Online Educators Providing Special Education Services

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the experiences of teachers in supplemental online program as they provided support to students with disabilities. We wanted to know what, if any accommodations and/or modifications were being made for the students and whether the support offered was instructional, procedural, technological, or in some other form. We found that students and parents of students with disabilities were receiving support mostly in the form of monitoring and social/emotional support.
