Reciprocity of a Mentor–Mentee Teacher Education Faculty Relationship

Fri, April 17, 8:15 to 10:15am, Marriott, Floor: Fourth Level, Armitage

Abstract

Using self-study as a conceptual-analytical framework, two teacher educators discuss their evolving mentoring relationship. They chronicle their time-intensive personal-professional development experiences by engaging in a reflective and inquiry approach. They simultaneously examine existing structures and question existing practice of the institutional and departmental cultures. Their goal is to foster a collaborative culture wherein knowledge is shared, negotiated, and constructed within the cultural context of teacher education and teacher-researcher leadership.
