Sat, April 18, 2:45 to 4:15pm, Hyatt, Floor: East Tower - Purple Level, Riverside West

Abstract

Over the course of three years, 28 new and experienced math and science teachers participated in a study involving classroom observations with specific feedback about their practice. Participants were observed by experts using the UTeach Observation Protocol (UTOP) and after completing training on the instrument were provided detailed feedback from their observations then given the opportunity to observe their peers using the observation protocol. Teachers reported that the specific feedback and structure provided an individualized approach, space and format for them to reflect on their classroom practices as well as peer observations.
