Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the pedagogical and methodological guidelines of the Education in Environmental Management Process, proposal elaborated by Brazilian Federal Environmental Agency (IBAMA), to present how it has been applied in Environmental Education Projects that are required from IBAMA as one of the mitigation measures of socio-environmental impacts caused by offshore oil and gas production activities and also the overall results achieved from these projects in Campos Basin, in Rio de Janeiro. As conclusion, the public environmental management can consist in a pedagogic space of knowledge construction and also enables the most vulnerable social groups’ participation in decision-making process.
