Sun, April 19, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Marriott, Floor: Fifth Level, Scottsdale

Abstract

More recent developments in Canada’s Yukon Territory draw attention to how political changes have potential for accelerating practices in education that are responsive to Indigenous People’s cultural knowledge systems and practices. This paper focuses on describing the processes that have occurred at the territorial and local government, school governance and classroom level that have contributed to changes in the pedagogy consistent with the aspirations of a First Nation community.
