Perceptions of Participants Using the Co-Teaching Model During Student Teaching

Abstract

This poster session will exhibit the findings of the implementation of the co-teaching method during the student teaching semester. The purpose of this mixed method investigation was to determine if results for an improved student teaching experience predicted by research at St. Cloud University could be replicated. In first semester of adopting the co-teaching model for student teaching, data in the form of surveys and focus group discussions were collected for teacher candidates and supervising teachers. The initial data proved promising, but generated additional questions about the fidelity of model implementation according to reports by teacher candidates and university supervisors. The data results will be displayed on a poster and explained by the presenters.
