Mon, April 20, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Hyatt, Floor: East Tower - Gold Level, Grand CD

Abstract

Many people pay attention to a theory of hope in many different contexts. The purpose of this paper, based upon an autoethnographic tale, is to explore a theory of hope/pain from an art perspective. First, this paper examines Webb’s five overarching modes of hopes from philosophy, theology, and psychology. Second, an attempt is made to revisit what is generally called “Silent Killers” to put self and the other together in an effort to improve shared responsibility. And lastly, this paper brings Duncan-Andrade’s audacity hope to our daily lives in a way that make elusive and impossible hopes future dream hopes toward a better world.
