Global Educators and Action Research

Mon, April 20, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Hyatt, Floor: East Tower - Gold Level, Grand CD

Abstract

The design of this action research project involves providing online support for action research to a community of educators who are engaged in global, project-based learning. Outside of the university, there are also many examples of programs that organize community groups to take action (Wadsworth, 2011) or teams of educators as part of a professional development activity (McNiff, 2013). But efforts to engage global educators from different countries online outside of university or school sponsored programs into the process of doing action research presents a unique set of challenges. My action research revolves around these challenges. My overall action research question is: How can I use online resources to motivate and support global educators to become action researchers?
