Thu, April 16, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Hyatt, Floor: East Tower - Green Level, Plaza B

Abstract

This study used the Log-Linear Cognitive Diagnosis Model (LCDM) to diagnose sources of decision making difficulties possessed by 581 Korean high school students with the Career Indecision Profile-65. Four attribute- and five-attribute models were compared for better fit. The results showed that the fifth attribute, need information, served as an important source of career indecision among these Korean adolescents. This study provided evidence for successfully applying LCDM to multidimensional constructs of career indecision and illustrated how LCDM help career psychologists and counselors with more accurate classification of individuals’ decision-making difficulties and improve counselors' efficiency of inquiry and providing targeted interventions for clients.
