Reflection in action research is a complicated matter because of the many forms of reflection but mainly because of the lack of a framework that can support reflection in action research. In this proposal we suggest such a framework based on four forms of reflection namely scientific, artistic, moral and technical reflection. Furthermore, an initial attempt is made to use this framework in relation to the actual practice of teacher reflection in action research. We show how the framework allows us to map the different forms of reflection teachers use in relation to their action research and helps us to gain insight in the differences in, and the course of reflection in action research.
