This paper investigates Hawaiian oral performance traditions that were recorded in primary sources written in the Hawaiian language and proposes a grounded theory called "The Concentricity of Hawaiian Oral Performance and Speech Behavior." The informal and formal methods of transferring knowledge through performance is also explained with implications for the development of a Native Hawaiian Common Core as well as democratizing the educational spaces for Native Hawaiian standards.
