Fri, April 8, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Exhibit Hall D Section C

Abstract

In 2014, we investigated how a group of university teachers from one New Zealand university utilised digital mobile technologies in their learning and teaching. A total of 308 teaching staff completed an online questionnaire and follow up interviews were conducted with 30 of these respondents. Results showed that few participants utilised digital and mobile technologies in their learning, while the majority did not use them in their teaching, despite the majority reporting that they considered such devices useful for supporting their teaching. The types of technologies utilised by this group of teachers is reported in this paper as well as the reasons for why they did/did not incorporate digital and mobile technologies in their teaching.
