This paper examines coaching in action, as perceived by the coach and the teachers in his portfolio. The case study methodology was used to gather data on individual’s perception of coaching, including their personal feelings and beliefs about the success of coaching in action as compared to the vision of coaching policy. This study reveals how teachers perceive outside influences shape coaching. In addition, it describes how a teacher’s perception of the coach’s autonomy shapes his or her coach-relationship.
