Utilizing Azjen’s (1985) theory of planned behavior, this study examines how Latino males’ high school activities may shape their postsecondary intentions. Using the national HSLS data set, we develop four factors focused on pre-college activities and run a multivariate regression model to determine the effect on intention to attend college. Two of our factors are significant predictors of intention to enroll in college. After accounting for income, school, and family characteristics, being Hispanic has no effect on intention to enroll in college; being female, however, retains a strong positive effect.
