For the purpose of this paper, the issue of “perversion” is taken up philosophically by looking backwards to an oft-unengaged Philosopher of Education – the Marquis de Sade - no stranger to controversy himself. This look back is to move forward, to think about contemporary pitfalls and promises in thinking about and through sexuality in education.
