Entering into an ongoing project initiative where we were unfamiliar with the contexts, disciplinary contents and actors presented challenges. Thus, we conducted several interview-conversations with computer mediated communication via Google Hangout, with the instructor and the project consultants with a shared ethnographic perspective. Subsequently, we developed relationships and became our cultural guides in gaining insider understandings into the developmental process of the project initiative. Multiple analysis were focused on the actors’ discursive choices making visible the histories of the project initiative, the roles and relationships of the actors who shaped the development of the project, and the professional backgrounds, experiences, and expertise required to integrate communication content and concepts of long term and futures thinking, often invisible in education context.
