A review of the literature should include a synthesis of the methods that have been utilized to study that particular area of research. This study was an examination of the research design, sources of data and data collection techniques, and data analysis and reporting techniques used in four journals relevant to the field of educational leadership. The findings of this study include: (1) a process that can be replicated by other researchers conducting a review of the literature, and (2) a summary of the methods that have been used in the field of educational leadership.
