Institutional Support for Undocumented College Students in an In-State Resident Tuition State

Mon, April 11, 2:45 to 4:15pm, Convention Center, Floor: Level One, Room 159 B

Abstract

The purpose of this multiple case study is to examine, through a Racist Nativist framework (Perez et al., 2008), how higher education institutions in an In State Resident Tuition (ISRT) state institutionalize services to support undocumented students. Using a multiple case study design, researchers conduct qualitative interviews and a focus group with 18-24 undocumented students who attend a college in Colorado across three sectors of postsecondary education: a local community college, a public 4-year state university, and a public research university.
