Abstract

This paper provides an analytical literature review of This paper uses narrative and an analytical review of the literature to examine some aspects of what it means to be a scholar activist. In particular, we studied the life and work of George I. Sanchez, who is recognized as the “single most influential individual to have made gains in securing equal rights for Mexican Americans” (Tevis, 2007, p. 191). Some of the materials reviewed pertain to the law, in particular what we have come to know as critical law. Other resources are situated in educational activism, even though Sánchez was a social justice activist whose work encompassed much more than education.
