Abstract

Schooling is moving away from presentational instruction and high stakes testing and toward more authentic and more ambitious kinds of teaching and learning. Given this opportunity, how can we help students to finish high school and go on to postsecondary education ready to take on personal, community, and global challenges? What works to inspire deeper learning, higher achievement, and greater career success in today’s youth? Please join us for a lively discussion of these questions and more. We will be exploring what it takes to provide all students with genuine opportunities not only to be ready for college but also—and just as important—to learn about and productively participate in work, civics, and life in a digital age.
