Session Type: Symposium
The proposed symposium discusses the provision of comprehensive support services to graduate students amidst the changing demands of graduate school. Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, graduate education has expanded to offer students a diverse array of activities to complement intensive research training. In this session, we examine how one university has engaged an array of institutional research methods to inform the development of comprehensive supports for its students across diverse domains. Each paper included in the proposed symposium takes a unique approach to exploring the following question: How can institutions assess the needs of and provide graduate and professional students with adequate, comprehensive supports to ensure graduation and successful job market entry?
