Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
There is perhaps no topic in educational research in the United States today that is more controversial than the evaluation of teachers. This session will discuss how teachers are evaluated in six countries around the world, so that those in the United States can compare what we are doing with more information about how other countries engage in this important task. The countries represented constitute western and non-western countries, countries that are developed and those developing. It is hoped that there will be time for discussion so that questions can be asked and explicit comparisons made.
