The Multiple-Mini-Interviews (MMI) is used to recruit medical students, however it is not yet commonly used in Nursing. A research study was undertaken to evaluate the validity and equality of the MMI to select BSc Nursing students. It is important that the MMI is a valid tool and that applicants from diverse backgrounds have equal opportunities to be successful. The MMI exist of several components: a mathematics test, an English composition test and six scenario-based assessment stations. Some of the potential biases were detected, namely nationality and location of secondary education, which showed significant association with MMI interview and MMI Mathematics. MMI Interview and MMI Mathematics marks appear to significantly predict academic success, whereas MMI Essay does not.
