With the rise of the Latinx student population in the U.S. and the urgency to meet the needs of this diverse community, there has been an increased concern and interest in preparing more Latinx educators and school leaders. This qualitative study specifically contributes to this knowledge base by examining the experiences of Latina school leaders in the U.S., as there is little known about this population when compared to their non-Latina female counterparts, as well as their male counterparts. Of particular interest was understanding the career trajectories of Latina school leaders, some of the challenges they face and the types of successes they experience given their gendered, racialized, and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
