Concern about relational affect of leaders has been a missing puzzle in most of the educational reform equation as well as in network research in education. Building on previous work around important social aspect of educational leaders, this work aims to further bridge different, yet important types of relational ties of leaders to capture not only work-related but also expressive aspects of interpersonal ties in one urban fringe school district serving highly diverse student population. Drawing on social network theory, efficacy, and organizational climate, findings suggest that gender, degree, years of experience, leadership efficacy, and innovative climate are associated with leaders being identified as influential energizers and seekers.
