Queer Leaders: LGBTQ Advocacy at an Urban Arts College

Abstract

This study explores the experiences of student affairs staff members engaged in advancing LGBTQ equity at a small Urban Arts College. This qualitative case study applies a framework for queer leadership in higher education. Findings illuminate how campus leaders engaged queer leadership strategies, personal identity, and LGBTQ advocacy to advance LGBTQ equity through policy and practice. Findings provide rich implications for LGBTQ student affairs practitioners and higher education leaders.
