Abstract

In April 2004, two seniors from rival high schools were featured in the Brownsville Herald as “Academic All-Stars.” Nearly ten years later, they met for the first time at a higher education conference. This conceptual paper applies borderlands theory to anchor their “testimonios” as two Chicana “hermanas” earning their PhDs.
