Initial Evidence for the Utility of a Multilevel Assessment of a Preschool's Readiness for Change

Sun, April 30, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Hemisfair Ballroom 1

Abstract

When early care and education programs (ECEPs) have certain characteristics they are more likely to implement programs well. In the present study, a 24 item readiness for change measure was piloted with 253 preschool teachers at Private centers, Head Start programs, and Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts programs. All center types identified challenges with teacher stress management and had other readiness strengths and weakness. Teacher demographics were not related to readiness scores.
