This session draws from a research study of district superintendents who were recognized as eSchoolNews Tech-Savvy Superintendents. This study compares data from technology savvy superintendents from 2001-2010 in contrast to those receiving the award between 2011-2014. Insights on empowering leadership, fostering learning and innovation, and managing the complexities of the district leadership role will be featured in a format that includes quotes, examples, and strategies that build on existing research in the field. A key focus of this presentation will be how these district level conversations have shifted away from technology initiatives and towards learning initiatives suffused with modern digital technologies.
