Abstract

This paper describes the development of the large, fine-grained learning map models used by the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Alternate Assessment System. Learning map models were used with principles of evidence-centered design (ECD) to produce short, instructionally relevant, accessible assessments for students with significant cognitive disabilities. This paper describes how learning map models can be used with principles of ECD, the materials created to support assessment development, and preliminary evidence to support DLM methods and materials.
