Sun, April 30, 4:05 to 5:35pm, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Hemisfair Ballroom 3

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to understand how women of color construct engineering identities using the voices of 14 women. Interviews revealed that early exposure to engineering motivates them to pursue engineering as a career and field of study. Also, academic, professional, and research experiences foster their emerging and salient engineering identities.
