Sun, April 30, 8:15 to 9:45am, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Hemisfair Ballroom 1

Abstract

The current paper will describe best practices for designing digital learning environments, including the use of evidence-centered design (ECD), the use of stealth assessments, and iterative testing during development in order to improve the reliability and validity of stealth assessments embedded in the digital environments. Examples of best practices in designing digital learning environments will be drawn from the researcher’s experience leading research and evaluation support for the 2010-2015 federally-funded Ready to Learn Initiative with the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the 2015-2020 federally-funded Ready to Learn Initiative with Twin Cities Public Television (TPT).
