Abstract

This paper argues that contemplative education is one of the powerful ways to reduce stress, promote mindful thinking, love, compassion, and transform lives of both teachers and students. The paper aims to look at contemplative practices in education with a particular focus on impact of contemplative practices on teachers. A three-day workshop is proposed for teachers on contemplative education which is very short period for meaningful learning and impact but this training should not be considered a one-time event and in fact this short training may be considered the beginning level training and first step for teachers. Teacher may explore advance level courses at institutions offering contemplative programs for teachers who are interested in holistic and wisdom-based.
