While colleges and universities have responded the need to provide access to higher education for undocumented students, graduate institutions have remained on the margins of these discussions and implementation of strategies to open the doors to postsecondary education for this population. Using a LatCrit (Delgado Bernal, 2002; HernandezTruyol, Harris & Valdes, 2006; Solórzano & Delgado Bernal, 2001) and Institutional UndocuCompetence frameworks (Valenzuela et al., 2015) this presentation will discuss the emergence and the experiences of three UndocuPhDs: students, researchersin training, and scholaradvocates who lead research that focuses on the undocumented population in the United States, build the capacity of their own institutions to recruit, enroll and support other undocumented students, and chronicle their journey through these pioneering experiences.
