Setting an accurate cut-score on a universal screener test has significant implications since the decisions based on this cut-score can influence the intervention received by the students at a considerable level. However, there is little research on how to set this cut-score effectively. Furthermore, some practical issues, such as the skewed classification, may further complicate the process of setting the cut-score. This study proposed four methods and compared their effectiveness in determining the cut-score on a universal screener test in a variety of test settings. Therefore, this study has both theoretical and methodological implications.
