A collection of four papers will be comprised of educators in grant-funded teacher and principal leadership preparation and development programs currently offered at a local university in conjunction with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The university is located in the greater metropolitan region of Los Angeles, California. Based on two years of data, our objective is to share findings of differences and similarities in middle and secondary school contexts, along with marginalized traditional and non-traditional public schools, and show how social justice leaders are developed and ready to lead in these underserved schools. These innovative and cutting-edge programs range from the preparation of school principals to the preparation of general education and special education teachers and teacher leaders.
