Session Type: Symposium
In response to AERA’s call for knowledge to action in challenging systemic, structural, and racial inequities and working toward equitable educational opportunity for all students, this symposium presents diverse research on preparing teachers with global competencies and internationalizing curriculum and pedagogy for educational change. Positioned within critical, narrative, and empirical research, the presentations offer methodological frameworks, theoretical approaches, interpretation of results, and application of knowledge that advance current dialogues on how to prepare teachers with global competencies for teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students. The session also advances research in global, international and comparative educational contexts and their impact on local and domestic curricula and pedagogies committed to promoting and enacting social justice.
