Session Type: Symposium
This symposium is about attracting and retaining the best teachers. Drawing on international research, this session will examine issues related to early career teachers that affect their retention not only to individual schools, but also to the profession. The symposium will argue for the need for a greater understanding of the systemic, contextual and individual issues that contribute to the problems and the possibilities that early career teachers face. It will argue that by providing this complex understanding, we can rethink the work of early career teachers so that they can transition to the profession successfully.
