This panel explores “Queer Battle Fatigue” (QBF): the personal and sociocultural effects and affects of everyday aggressions and violence that face LGBTQI people, communities and their allies in their daily fight to simply “be” in the world. In so doing, we press at the boundaries of intersectionality and assemblages of queer theory in relation other sociocultural precepts (e.g., race, ability, home language, and class). Papers explore possibilities for employing QBF ranging from the ever increasing suicide rate among queer youth to the range of violence against LGBTQI people, from events in Orlando to those around the globe.
