Session Type: Symposium
This symposium will describe the role of same-level peers in clinical education through discussion of current research and practice and generate dialogue on the advancement of research and practice in this area. The chair will provide overview of the aim and format of the session. The initial two presenters will address research on peer learning along the continuum of medical student education. The following presentation will address the role of social comparison among peers and how it can give meaning to student experiences. The final presentation will focus on implementation of peer learning. The symposium will close with a summary of conclusions from the presentations and on the critical practical components required for a successful peer learning.
