Session Summary

52.023 - Quantitative and Qualitative Methods Are Not Enough! The Ethics of Research Beyond Methodocentrism

Sun, April 30, 8:15 to 10:15am, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 214 C

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This symposium is an attempt to break from the blindness, self-censorship, and conformity of the qualitative/Quantitative binary and to end the trauma once and for all caused by binary thinking; putting to rest the lingering effects of positivism and the fantasy of controlled environments, disentangled phenomenon, inert matter, universal and rational men, conformist protocols, stifling methodologies, and mythical apolitical actors both human and non-human.
