Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This structured poster session will discuss various approaches to and perspectives on how The Framework for K-12 Science Education (NRC, 2012) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) (NGSS Lead States, 2013) work to inform science instruction, learning, and assessments to an increasingly diverse student population. The papers in this session address the ways in which NGSS-aligned curricula and assessments have the potential to provide science learning opportunities for a wider range of students. Posters in this session will also discuss areas of improvement as they challenge reform efforts to create entry points for NGSS-aligned curricular and instructional changes that address diversity and equitable learning opportunities.
