42.026 - (Re)visioning the Profession: What Should Professors of Educational Leadership Be Doing and How Should We Be Supported?

Abstract

The members of Division A understand our role and responsibility in forging a path for scholars in related education disciplines to first frame and then discuss these difficult questions. To that end, the invited session will feature senior scholars in our field to share their perspectives on two critical questions: What should professors of educational leadership be doing? And how can we shape a better understanding of how we should be supported (i.e. by our institutions, funding agencies, etc.)?

This session will be a starting point for a conversation that will continue into the Division A Business meeting, the focus of which will exploring how we might (re)vision the profession and identify concrete action steps.
